​Manuela Torres Carneiro

Manuela Torres Carneiro was born in the Douro pine forest in Portugal, between mountains and age-old vineyards, between raw nature and sculpted work of man. This mythical region where Man seems to have drawn the landscapes in harmony with the wild canyons.

 

Investigating her roots, Manuela expresses lands, harbours, love of life ... She has inherited a frank culture and her paintings speak with generosity and immediacy. Behind this apparent simplicity hides a long work on colors and lines in order to give movement and life to her works. Her obsession is to transcribe natural energies and emotions.

 

Descended from wine-growing families, after working the land and raising her children, Manuela started painting late despite it was already a child dream. Today, her paintings evoke the essentials of life, the fundamentals that bring everyone together.
